Maison Birks

The Birks Group started out as a small jewellery store opened by Henry Birks in Montreal in 1879. The business grew and grew and in 2005 it changed its status to a group following a merger between the Henry Birks and Sons Ltd. chain based in Canada and the Mayors Jewelers Inc. chain based in the United States. The company, in fact, has six key stores in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

The Montreal store is characterised by a refined minimalism that includes a ceiling fitted with different sized Laser Blade luminaires that point in different directions to create a distinctive graphic light play.
