Lingotto is an icon that combines aesthetics, technology and a deep connection to its industrial roots.

Preserving an icon means taking great care when updating it, rendering it more functional and versatile to reflect modern needs, all whilst keeping its original charm intact.

"An interesting object is never just a functional or beautiful item in its pure form; it is beautiful also because it tells a story, because it connects to the imagination."
Renzo Piano

In 1985, the Renzo Piano Building Workshop designed the conversion of the Lingotto building, transforming it from the FIAT car factory to a multifunctional space, which marked a change in Turin's identity, from a working-class city to a city dedicated to the culture of making.

Renzo Piano designed Lingotto for the Lingotto - the start of a ten-year partnership with iGuzzini.

Lingotto is more than a lamp:
it serves as a tribute to an industrial past, a synthesis of history and innovation. Designed by Renzo Piano, each detail celebrates the strength and precision of industry.

The shape evokes a bucket, while the visible screws and ribbing display an industrial aesthetic.

Yellow is the colour of signals in factories, while the fork for mounting the light on the wall adds a touch of functional elegance.

Renewing innovation: a versatile solution for indoor and outdoor use

Lingotto was the first floodlight to be designed for indoor and outdoor use. New optics, finishes and installation options extend its original versatility even further.

An explosion of applications
Lingotto is a multifunctional, highly versatile product: a floodlight and a wall light, with a base or fixed arm, with integrated driver or box, and with both single and multiple solutions for attaching to a flange on a pole or arm.

The base is a functional new solution, facilitating the installation of the outdoor floodlight, including on a pole.
The articulated arm is the ideal indoor/outdoor solution for simple wall installation.
The box remains the symbol of the functional breakdown of the Lingotto, separating the optical element from the other components.

Compact or elongated. The mobility of the arm enables it to be adapted to the space.

The fork is an iconic element, conveying the formal language borrowed from the world of mechanics.

New colours
Black, white, brown and the iconic two-tone version, with the yellow detail breaking up the grey of the steel. A purely formal nod that has become the hallmark of the Lingotto.

Optical versatility
Three new optics further expand the possible applications, with direct light for urban spaces, roads and cycle routes or indirect light for hospitality and residential spaces.

Opti Beam Reflector
Up to 6100 lm
(GL / A30°)

Opti Beam Lens
Up to 4900 lm
(S / F / WF)

Opti Smart Lens
Up to 5400 lm
(A60 / ST1 / ST1.5 / STCy0.5)

Perfect effect
The professional nature of a floodlight is clear from the number of accessories. The Lingotto modulates the light, in order achieve the precise effect desired.

Lingotto listens to the night
Lighting that varies according to the context and the natural rhythms, respecting the environment and reducing energy consumption. Lingotto illuminates without disturbing.

A social, biological light
Tunable warm

Recent studies have demonstrated the importance of socialising in open spaces, to promote physical and psychological well-being for people of all ages, even after dark.

However, it is equally important to bear in mind that exposure to short wavelength (bluish) light has adverse effects on the human biological system, in particular on the circadian sleep cycle. In contrast, warm light, 3000K to 2200K, with a high colour rendering (CRI80), stimulates melatonin production, respecting the sleep/wake cycle, as well as ensuring high colour and visual perception.

Animals perceive light differently to humans, and artificial light can cause physiological changes in wildlife.

Each species responds differently to different wavelengths, but generally speaking, animals are very photosensitive to cool tones as well as UV rays. With the Tunable warm technology, the colour temperature can be varied from 3000K to 2200K, selecting the most appropriate wavelength in accordance with animal activity in the months in question, and in accordance with the times of day when the space is used.

A new approach to lighting, with warm light sources and variable intensities, ensures a balance between human needs and the protection of biodiversity, adapting to the natural rhythms of ecosystems and enabling coexistence with nocturnal animals.
