Adolfo Guzzini has been awarded with the Compasso d’Oro Award for lifetime achievement with whom ADI (Italian Association for Industrial Design) recognizes since 1954 the contribute of outstanding professional figures that have been involved in the enhancement of italian design culture with their activity.
By virtue of his commitment to promote the design Made in Italy and the culture of light worldwide, Adolfo Guzzini received the prestigious award at the ceremony held on June 20 at the Sforza Castle in Milan. A sixty-year commitment that has led iGuzzini to be among the top five companies in Europe in the lighting sector and, at the same time, has contributed to strengthening the Italian lighting industry in the world through an active involvement in associations of the sector. Convinced as a promoter of a synergistic and collaborative business system, since the beginning of his entrepreneurial activity Adolfo Guzzini has been personally involved in associations’ activities - as a co-founder and President of AIFAI (later called AssoLuce), respectively in 1969 and from 1976 to 1980, and as first President of the Arredo Urbano Group of Federlegno Arredo from 1989 to 1994. He was among the promoters of Euroluce (1976), the first National Exhibition of Lighting at national level, and founding member and promoter of the international Europolis fair in Bologna (1992). Counselor in Cosmit, he has held positions at national level in Confindustria, in the Italian Association of Enlightenment, in the ADI and in the National Institute of Architecture. He is currently Honorary President of In/Arch.

The award ceremony also marked the inauguration of the
"XXV Compasso d'Oro" exhibition which collects products and projects carefully selected by the ADI Design Index - a commission of experts, designers, critics, historians, specialized journalists. For the XXV edition of this initiative, iGuzzini stands out with
Twilight awarded with the Honorable Mention, and with
Laser Blade XS and
Palco LV, all included in the exhibition open to the public until June 26th.
